FLAME RETARDANT MATERIAL
2M Italia can produce its components also in a special Flame Retardant material. The main raw material we use it’s called Polyamide V0 and it is tested according to UL94 norm, that guarantees a great resistance to high temperatures and a flammability index in accordance with the mentioned norm.
FLAME RETARDANT POLYAMIDE FOR TECHNICAL USES
In essence this material guarantees that in comparison to a normal Polyamide, if the sample comes into contact with heat sources, as soon as it is removed from the flame it will no longer burn or drip, according to the provisions of the mentioned legislation.
Such material aims to reduce the thermoplastic material flammability, influencing the combustion process according to various mechanisms, such as:
Gas development
Intumescence
Fusion (absorbs heat that feeds the flame)
Action on the chemical reaction (slows down the speed)
